Establishment
The history of our law firm dates back to 1996, when our office first saw the light of day. This took place in October 1996, when Simo Ellilä and Seppo Havia agreed to establish the law firm Ellilä & Havia Oy. Simo and Seppo had previously worked as attorneys in Tikkurila, Vantaa, where both had run their own law practices. The purpose of founding the new law firm was to combine Simo’s and Seppo’s client bases and to create a firm that would offer high-quality and professional legal services.
Location
Originally, the office of Ellilä & Havia Oy was located on Mikonkatu in Helsinki. However, in September 1997 the firm moved to its current premises at Vuorikatu 6 A 12.
Staff
Over the years, our firm’s personnel has undergone changes. On 1 September 1999, Seppo Havia transferred to the Service Sector Employers’ Association in Eteläranta. The assignments and clients previously handled by Seppo Havia were transferred to the care of the firm’s other lawyers. Of our current attorneys, attorney-at-law, Master of Laws Pasi Pirinen joined the company in 1999. Attorney-at-law, Master of Laws Petri Rissanen has worked with the firm since 2000.
Name
Our company’s name has also changed over time. As of 1 March 2001, the name of Ellilä & Havia Oy was changed, and since then our firm has been known as Aasa-Law Attorneys Ltd. Aasa means a Scandinavian god. The name change was prompted by Seppo Havia’s departure from the firm. The new name is also independent of the names of the firm’s partners and the lawyers working at the office.
